Time is Near…

Romans‬ ‭13:11-12‬ 11 “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”

Romans 15:17

17 “Therefore I have reason to glory in Christ Jesus in the things which pertain to God.”

There is a feeling of urgency all around us. We can sense around the world, countries preparing for big decisions, leaders going for unexpected steps, wars and calamities; altogether there is feeling that we have very less time to share the gospel. Does our heart ache for the people being lost?

But are we still in sleep?
We are still holding to our life, our family, our education, our career and everything else relating to God’s work and ministry seems invisible to us. We are losing our vision for Christ!
When we sleep, we keep our eyes closed and the outside world is not visible to us. We forget everything and let our mind to rest. In the spiritual realms also, sometimes we are in ‘deep sleep’ where we don’t care about things around us.
This is how we often react to situations:

A 100 died in Syria during war… ‘

Me: What has that got to do with me?

‘A 50 killed in bomb blast in Iraq.’
Me: So, what should I do?

’20 people passed away in terrorist attacks in India’

Me: Oh, its in my country… But I’m not affected!

‘The girl in your neighbourhood town is raped and murdered’

Me: ‘Its her problem, I am still safe!’
Tomorrow it might be you or me! Or it might be someone near to us!

Time is running…

Have you shared the love of Christ with your dear ones before they sleep? What guarantee do we have of our life, other than in Christ Jesus?

We are in utter spiritual sleep if our reactions are ‘I don’t care what happens to others’. If our heart doesn’t ache when people die without knowing Christ, it’s something that we should most certainly have a thought about! Where is my love for Christ?
Its time for us to put the armour of light. Let us pray more and more for the world and those around us. And may God equip us with the full armour of God as in Ephesians 6:10-20. Let us take the helmet of salvation, sword of the spirit and the shield of faith. The day is near…
We only have one reason to glory or boast and that is in Christ Jesus…
God bless you…
